I won't say it's the best, but it's pretty darn close and the one I smoke normally... ONYX RESERVE RVman / John

RE: Please, we need your prayers.

Rick, I am so sorry. May God Hold you and your family securely in his Hand... I am sorry I am so late to respond, but we have been without electric since Sunday. I will keep you and your family in my Prayers! God Bless... John

RE: Stew Olsen

Stew, Great to see you're still reading and posting on the forum. I like the rest on here wish someone would pick up your show, because we miss it. I would think with the state of the RV Industry, the industry sure could use a boost from a Quality RV Show... who knows, it could still happen. Have a great one and good luck to you! RVman / John

RE: Dometic vs Norcold

Whenever possible I try to buy items built in the US. Norcold is US made, Dometic isn't... oh, another big reason is, my Son-in-law is an engineer for Norcold... :) RVman / John

RE: KZ backs it's Warranty

Likewise, I have nothing but Fantastic Service from KZ and our Dealer. There is no question when we are ready to replace our 5th Wheel, it will be another trailer built by KZ... RVman / John

RE: Log Book

RV Notebook We use RV Notebook also. I used to keep a written notebook of our travels, in fact I have about 6 or 7 notebooks filled with information. However it is much easier to look things up in The RV Notebook. RVman / John

RE: Awning Magic, Now You See It, Now You Don't

Wow there must be a bunch of those “microburst” happening now days. On June 22nd, we were in a park in northern Indiana. Our friends who were camping about 5 sites down from us invited us over for brunch. We were only gone maybe 60 minutes on a beautiful sunny & humid late morning when one hit our awning. I was lucky it just ripped the fabric off the tube, even though we had 2 (each side) De-Flappers on it. I turned it into the insurance, and my dealer is replacing it. I never let the awning out if we are not there, but I just didn’t even think to put it away… RVman / John

RE: Bike recommendations

Several years ago I ask the same question. We had a couple of folding bikes we always took with us, but never seemed to ride much, and we decided we wanted full size bikes to ride at the campgrounds, ride to the store occasionally, and maybe once in a while explore the area on them. It was recommended we visit a bike shop, which is what we did. I told the Bike Shop owner our plans, we wanted nothing fancy, but I did not want them to rust, I wanted brakes and gears that worked, and finally a comfortable seat. We ended up with a pair of Fuji Comfort Bikes which I believe we paid around $350.00 each. The bike shop fit the bikes to us, and gave us a couple of free future tune-ups. We ride a lot more than we planned and even ride the some at home. I strongly agree with the folks telling you to go to a real Bike Shop. It has really paid off for us. RVman / John

RE: Survey: Who's getting an iPhone 3G friday?

I'm an AT&T customer and have been since before they were Ameritec (sp?), but there is no way I would spend that much for a cell-phone. RVman / John

RE: Snowbirds, who's staying North this winter?

As of now, I'm still going to head to Florida this coming winter, however still being in the working sector... We can only spend 4 to 6 weeks there during the winter. It will just have to work for now. RVman / John

RE: Chicago & American Doll

jim isham, we finally took the trip with my granddaughter... Wow your suggestions were "right on the money!" The Indiana Dunes Campground was great, my Granddaughter loved the train ride and certainly loved buying her new doll at the American Girl Store. We stopped to visit friends at the Circle B Campground in Angola, IN on our way. It was a bright sunny day, we walked down for brunch to our friends Campsite when a quick thunderstorm popped up... so I hustled back to our 5th Wheel, because I had let the awning out... and wouldn't you know it, in a matter of 10 minutes or so, I lost my awning! I always put it in when we leave, but this day it was just beautiful, I was still in the park, and I was gone for maybe an hour... but we didn't let it ruin our trip... Thanks for the help on planning this trip. RVman / John

RE: Leveling first/slideout first

Although I have a 5th Wheel rather than a MH, I agree with the other posts, do it according to your manufacturers manual... my 5th Wheel manual says to level before running the slides out. RVman / John

RE: Fuel/oil price discussions in this forum

The is a "glut" of these topics running all over these forums. We as a mod group decided that if they need to be discussed the subject can be discussed in a forum dedicated to those kinds of discussions. The 5th wheels forums and other for specific topics is not the place for fuel discussions. I am able to click and go to any forum I want. If you feel the need to talk about fuel, click and go to the forum that has the topic. Frank, thanks, I understand where you are coming from on the Fuel Topic / Thread, I just hate to see something start when it could be applied to just about 90% of the threads here. I seldom visit the ATC forum, but I guess I will start checking it out more often. RVman / John

RE: Fuel/oil price discussions in this forum

I don’t understand banding Fuel Topics from the Fifth Wheel or General Forum. This is not only a hot topic for us RV’ers, but the entire country. AGAIN, there IS a fuel topic in General. Is it really an inconvenience to go to another forum? Does it really make sense to have a fuel rant thread in every forum? No. And it's "banning" not banding. Thanks for the spelling lesson... and No it's not inconvenient to go to another forum.
